Darius Mills is a major character in Instant Star. In Season Two he runs G Major. It is later revealed that he covered for his sister who killed Angie, the woman Tommy cheated on her with.

History[]

Season One[]

Darius is first seen when he pulls Jude from the cover of a popular magazine and Tommy thinks it's because of the grudge they've had together for years. Tommy takes Jude to Darius' mansion party to try and impress him and win the cover back.

Tommy has drinks with Darius and he tells him that Jude lost the cover because she isn't marketable enough, but Tommy begs him to listen to her new song. Darius gives in and plays "Let Me Fall", he likes the song but still isn't convinced she's the right choice. Later, Darius is convinced to give Jude the cover after she (unknowingly) impressed his sister, Portia.

Season Two[]

At some point during Jude's first tour for her album, Darius buys out G Major and acquires the label, even forcing Georgia out of her role in the company. With the takeover in full effect, Darius exerts his power and makes major changes which puts all of the employees on edge.

He tells Jude she must play a cover song at his yacht party but she ends up playing her own song again. Angered, he kicks her out of the party and threatens to terminate her contract unless she does what he says. He punishes her by forcing her to wear a blonde wig and perform a dance number with the other Instant Star contestants.

He then cuts off all her funding as he doesn't think she's a profitable artist to be focusing on right now. Jude, trying to prove herself, funds her own recording of a bootleg song which becomes a viral hit in the charts and convinces Darius to take a chance on her - to which he gives her approval for a second album.
